10th player in FIFA 15

I have played FIFA Fut Coins all of my life and it’s a huge honour to be asked to be on the cover of FIFA 15,” Hazard stated while extending his thanks to EA. “Now I have played the game I can say it’s the most realistic football game I have seen, so I cannot wait to challenge my friends and team-mates with FIFA 15 and show off the new moves.”

Eden is currently ranked as the 10th player in FIFA 15’s top player list, with a score of 88, which places him on the same level as the players in spots 8 and 9, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Franck Ribery, respectively.

In the US, the cover will feature Lionel Messi alongside Clint Dempsey. Dempsey also mentioned that he has been playing FIFA games his entire life. “It’s pretty cool, especially to be on the cover of a game that I played growing up,” he said, “and also in the company of one of the best players in the world. It’s exciting.” Dempsey has also talked about the popularity of the FIFA games in America, and how they have helped to make the real-life game of soccer more popular as well.

FIFA 15 is due for release on September

FIFA has become Fifa Coins one of the world’s most popular video game franchises, allowing soccer fans around the world to feel involved in their beloved sport from the comfort of their living rooms. Interest in soccer has been growing around the world; this past year has particularly seen a surge in U.S. interest. The FIFA games have played a major role in that, as far as Dempsey sees it, and the growth of the two together is no coincidence. Is it real-life soccer increasing the popularity of the FIFA games, or the other way around? Dempsey believes it is actually the video games that are driving the growth of the real-life championships.

“You start figuring out the rules, so when you watch the games on TV, you’re able to understand it more,” he explained. Players who enjoy the FIFA video games are more easily able to follow along with the action on television as they watch the real-life soccer season unfold. Makes sense.

FIFA 15 is due for release on September 23rd, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Gamers who pre-order will be able to lock in their price, get access to the game on the day that it comes out, and enjoy awesome pre-order bonuses.

Another still from Warlords cinematic released

Blizzard has released another still from their upcoming Warlords of Draenor cinematic trailer. Like yesterday’s release, it features Grommash Hellscream, but this time we’re up close and personal. This is one ominous-looking orc. It also seems like there are some sort of rockets or artillery going off behind him–tools of the Iron Horde? I guess we’ll find out when the full cinematic is released tomorrow. Click the image above for the full resolution version.

Also, Grom? Dang, you need a new facial cleanser. Whatever you’re using now isn’t doing anything for your pores.

North American realms are now coming up

After much downtime, North American realms are now coming up, albeit slowly. If there are further problems throughout the day, we’ll have updates here.

Expect another round or two of hotfixes today, as well as some additional queues when logging in. While yesterday’s server issues were large, we’re betting things quite down on that front this evening.

Chauffered Chopper heirloom mount coming in patch 61

Sure, with heirlooms you can deck your alts out in great gear and make the leveling process a lot easier. But what about getting around? Your mounts may be shared across all of your characters, but you still can’t ride those mounts when you get started — which leaves your new alt stuck running around the world. How undignified!

Enter the Chauffered Chopper, which is currently on the patch 6.1 test realm. Like the name implies, this is a motorcycle-style mount with a driver (currently orc Koak Hoburn, likely a nod to Driving Miss Daisy chauffeur Hoke Colburn). Having your own chauffeur means that you can ride around in this chopper at any level, making it a must-have for alt-a-holics on the move. You can pick up your own by nabbing the Heirloom Hoarder achievement for collecting 35 heirlooms.

The mount isn’t currently working on the PTR, so it appears to be a work in progress. Also, it’s more than a little odd to have an orc chauffeur for a distinctly alliance-styled mount, so we wonder if its look might be changing before it goes live. We’ll keep an eye on the PTR for more info when it’s there!

Breakfast Topic How much farming is too much farming

There’s no MMO or game in general really that doesn’t have some grinding built in. After all, you need some reason to keep logging in after you’ve run out of quest rewards and dungeons to clear. But sometimes the grind you go through for achievements and collectables is just too much. So when do you decide that it’s time to throw in the towel on your own grinds?

Right now, I’m working on safari achievements, and I’m down to one pet left to catch in Eastern Kingdoms and one more in Kalimdor. Two more pets when I’ve already managed to pick up 360 unique pets shouldn’t be that hard, right? Wrong. Right now I have alts camped to watch for rare spawns, and I log in now and then to sit and stare at my mini-map as if that will make them spawn faster. But this isn’t exactly compelling gameplay — in fact, this kind of tedium is the dead opposite of compelling. But I’ve gotten so close… I shouldn’t give up with only a couple of pets to go, should I?

So today let’s talk grinds. How long have you ever spent farming or grinding for a particular bauble or achievement in-game? And just when do you decide that enough is enough?

The primal forces that forged the lands of Draenor

The primal forces that forged the lands of Draenor are still in conflict to this day, and in no other place is this more evident than Gorgrond. A land of contradictions, Gorgrond features barren rocky plains and dense overgrown jungles. Everywhere one looks, there’s evidence of a realm at war with itself and monstrous creatures as dangerous as they are ancient.

The Botani

Slender, deliberate, and calculating, these enigmatic living trees single-mindedly tend to the wilds of Draenor. Wise in the ancient ways, they seek lost artifacts of bygone ages to empower the explosive growth of their territory… often at the expense of Draenor’s other sentient denizens. The botani wage an eternal war against the creatures of stone, and the natives of Gorgrond do their best to survive in the midst of constant conflict between the botani and the goren, gronn, magnaron and others. Since the Iron Horde and the creatures of stone began working together, the botani have become even more aggressive – orcs and draenei both have been disappearing of late into dense botani enclaves.

The Infested

The botani have long cultured unique plantlife in their irrigated ponds or tree dwellings, but far more terrifying is their ability to cultivate flora within a living host. Unwary natives are captured and seeded in an agonizing process that alters their physical makeup and takes complete control over their bodies, turning them into mindless walking saplings. The entire process is poorly understood, but these grisly infested can be seen guarding botani enclaves or shambling ahead of the botani host as gruesome cannon fodder whose corpses eventually seed new terrain.

Australian Servers Down Under

We are pleased to announce that the upcoming deployment of Australian World of Warcraft game servers ahead of the games next expansion, Warlords of Draenor. This new infrastructure will support Australia and New Zealand and should provide a significant smoother gameplay experience for players in the region.

Players currently on an Oceanic realm—Barthilas, Frostmourne, Thaurissan, Saurfang, Caelestrasz, Jubei’Thos, Khaz’goroth, Aman’Thul, Nagrand, Dath’Remar, Dreadmaul, and Gundrak—should automatically experience improved latency once the new game servers go live. To help those currently adventuring on North American realms, such as Blackrock and Proudmoore, optional free character and guild master realm transfers will be offered for a limited time.
